Penny List Today helps shoppers in the United States find penny items and deep clearance at big stores, before they walk in the door.
What we do
Every week, some products at stores like Dollar General, Home Depot and Dollar Tree drop to one cent in the store’s system. Those items are meant to be pulled from the shelf. Some get missed, and shoppers who know what to look for can buy them for a penny. Walmart works a little differently, with hidden clearance that scans lower than the price on the shelf tag.
The problem is that stores never advertise any of this. So we do the sorting for you. We gather the latest penny and clearance reports, check them against each other, and organize them by store and category, with the barcode number for every item.
How the site works
Pick your store, pick a category, and you’ll see the items with their barcodes. Our guides explain how penny shopping works at each store, how to check prices with the store apps, and how to stay on good terms with store staff.
Who we are
Penny List Today is run by a small independent team of deal researchers. We are not connected to any store, and no store reviews or approves what we publish. You can read how we put our lists together in our Editorial Policy.
Our promise
- We only list items that more than one source reports.
- We tell you when sources disagree, for example on store policy.
- We fix mistakes quickly when readers point them out.
- We always remind you to scan before you buy, because prices vary by store.
